Freddy, they are half sisters.  I posted some pics earlier last month of the second heifer.  Long story short, too many cows for the yearling bull I was going to put out.  My uncle got ahold of a Maine cross bull of Clayton Fryes when he sold a bunch of cattle and he was put out on my cows.  All the calves are half sibs but one and he's out of OCC Homer.  The first calf is out of the big brockle faced cow with multiple brands on her left side.  Shes just a good ole commercial cow.  Her daughter is the black baldy that I have pictured as a first calf heifer this year.

The second calf is out of a really nice smaller black cow that is a daughter of the Angus bull Sugar Loaf Direct Hit.  The calf's half sib is the blaze faced yearling heifer pictured in the first set.

LOL, RW I laughed my butt off.  He asked me if I had to post THAT picture after I told him what you said.  I could have posted the one of him scratching his neck I guess....  8)

Romax, thanks, but I certainly do like my Herefords.  I've got a Hereford bull that most people would have to love, I just wish he was about 8 years younger!

rkmn, here's his pedigree.  http://www.herfnet.com/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll?1=232B21&2=232F50&3=56&5=2B3C2B3C3A&6=5A5D5C2421262F202D&9=5C5D5A

This will be the first calf crop I will get out of Gus.  I used another bull from Gustafson Herefords and got some flat smoking calves.  "Gus" made it to Denver as a calf, but I don't know any more than that.  He was originally purchased for use on the large commercial ranch I worked for and then I bought him from there.  I'm really excited about him.  He's extremely sound as he travels, and his EPD's are strong.  I'm starting to get some interest in him as his sire is now gone and his calves are excelling in the feedlot.  He's now a three year old. What else can I tell ya??  I have a couple more pics I can post for you.
