Just wondered what you guys think of the Boss blowers? Are they worth the extra $$? They claim the blower puts out 40 degrees more heat than Express, and just under ft/sec of two Express blowers. Thanks in advance for your take.

We bought a Boss blower this summer, and have been pleased with it so far.  I think it's true advantage might be most apparent during the winter months.  Our decision to buy the Boss was based mostly on 2 factors:  the (hopefully) greater longevity, and similar performance to the 2 blowers / cart set-up with a whole lot less equipment to haul.  The Boss will not produce the air volume of the 2 blower set-up, BUT, it is a whole lot easier to handle - particularly for our 10 year-old daughter.  The single hose with 2 blowers is pretty big for a small hand!  We still have our cart, etc, for the double blower set-up, but no one wants to use it...everyone prefers the Boss.  If you add the cost of 2 blowers, cart, "y" hose, etc together, the cost of the Boss looks a little more "reasonable."  I would suggest that you have a good power source, and use heavy cords with the Boss, but it still takes less power than 2 regular blowers combined.

Time will tell if it was a good investment... but as our 2 daughters say, "It sure does look cool!"

They pulled too much juice for what most breakers are wired for at the shows.  We spent more time tripping breakers than blowing and the blower was the only thing on that circuit.  For the money go with 2 other blowers and rig up the double hose.  You can add a short piece of smaller hose at the end of the big blower hose so that it is easier to handle just use the nozzle with the bigger opening on the end instead of the normal nozzle so the air flow isn't restricted too much and doesn't blow the smaller hose off of the bigger one.  With the 2 blowers you can use them both at the same time or seperately.  If one breaks you still have another one to use.  So not just use 1 blower at a time when hooked up to the double blower hose, because the back flow of air into the blower that isn't running  is not good for it.  Not sure why but it seems to make them weaker, maybe its the air making the fan run in reverse or something.  Had a friend install shutoff valves between the blowers and the hose to eliminate this problem.

Thank's for noticing Doc. It was new at the Loisiville show and I really liked it. The double blower system is better for getting a lot of water out however the BOSS does get a higher temp and is great for finishing and working the hair. Our blower was my Christmas present to Stacey (I am a hopeless romanitc) and she really liked it. Hopefully by Denver we will have our logo on it. I really enjoyed meeting a lot of you at Loisville and look forward to our continued freindships.

Are you trying to get more post or what? You have responded to about 5 with no point.

We would not be without our double blowers. It gets so cold here in winter when we wash we can really get them dry quick.
