Hi everyone! I know you probably get tired of people asking what to breed their cows & heifers to, so I apologize in advance!! Ive natural bred my cow twice and liked the results, but now I am going to try AI. She is a daughter of Heat Wave, that is clean fronted and straight over her top, and real deep sided. Id like to maybe breed her to something that will produce a more thicker, shorter, clean fronted calf. Basically..i  really just want a calf that has a nice hip and overall thickness, with that showy appearance. She has had minor problems calving in the past, where the calves had to be pulled, so im looking for a bull with high calving ease. Id like to maybe get a calf with alot of color, but im not too picky. Any suggestions?

I also have a    mainexbrangus  heifer that is a more taller slender female, really showy, that is deep sided. She is alittle throaty and heavy fronted. Id really like to breed her to something that will also produce a shorter, cleaner fronted, wider calf, also with that overall thickness and muscle.

Basically, Im wondering what bulls you recommend with a high calving ease//low birth weight, that produces those real showy thick muscular calves.

Thanks in advance.

I think Hairy Bear fits the description, and has low BW's.  I think.

You want to go with something completely unrelated to the Heat Seeker bloodline.  So the recommendations you've already got are hard to beat for black calves.

If you want a colored calf, I'd suggest a purebred Charolais bull or maybe even a purebred .  You are probably going to get your hair and "look" from mama, but you could get a lot of muscle and bone from a bull of those breeds.  Lots to pick from (Charolais - Lead On, Popeye, Hoo Doo Prince are common bulls for show calves; Simmental - Dream On, Macho, and others.)  The further away you get from crossbred show steer bulls the better you'd be in my opinion with a female of that breeding - especially if you wind up with a heifer calf.

I approve of Bawndoh's choice . WE have seven, all born small and unassisted. Also sound.

Does anyone use LIfeline any more? Seems like there is always one down south that is tough.
