Real nice looking. As was said a bit much in the brisket, but bred to the right cow, you could have some great calves with this bull

Thanks for the feedback... he's out of a SIMBRAH cow (one of the top dams in the breed, and a BRAUNVIEH Sire.  We have bought him for a clean up bull on our Maine/Angus (and a few Simmy Angus cows).  I personally like Braunvieh although most clubby guys don't.  Mostly looking for good heifers with him.

He has some real impressive breeding behind him on both sides that's why we bought him.  He is loose fronted because 1/2 Brahman (on dams side) and full blood Braunvieh on sires side.  I'm thinking he'll make some really nice females crossing with our blacks.  Like humans sometimes I think good calves come from there grandparents as much as the parents!

I like the bull. Yes, he has a bit of extra leather in his throat area, and in his sheath, but I would over look that due to his massive thickness and depth. I think he is longer than he appears just due to his depth. His feet and legs appear to be very correct in their function.
This is the type of bull that would do many, many, many herds some good.

I wanted to double check the picture but after further inspection, I like his testicular development. It seems his sire and dam have exceptional sex traits... meaning his sire has good testicals and his dam has a solid udder!
He looks like a bull, and not a steer with nuts!!

Judging from what Kobo has posted in the past about trying to raise Americans the extra dewlap is a positive trait.  Crossing Americans with exotics can have a tendency to clean the calves up too much to classify American and then you just have a slightly sloppy club calf.

As I mentioned this bull will mainly be a clean up bull.  We still AI our best clubby heifers and 2nd year calvers, and our best proven mature cows.  We are hoping for some nice females perhaps out of him, and perhaps AIing them to some nice American sires down the road, so we don't get that 'sloppy' look.
