Ok, Im looking for the biggest boned and biggest footed char cross bull? Im looking to make some females out of a larger framed donor of mine and was wondering what everyone thought. Im not looking for a pure bred bull just a smaller to medium framed (clubby influenced) bull. What are peoples thoughts on Copper Penny?

I saw Copper Penny @ REI in the summer of 09. He is IMO very small.

I would look into Derouchey & Bauman's bull Felony.3/4 blood Char., out of Kojack on a full sib to Yellow Jacket. Have heard some good thing about those calves. Only the first calf crop on the ground this year. Fred Campbell has had a handful of them. He's from Akron,In.

The Fire Water bull is doing some good things, but he is a PB bull. He has some fushmates that are also siring good calves IMO.

Not sure what his frame size is like but I like the bone and foot size of Smoke and Mirrors.  A new bull so not sure what females would be like out of him.

S OME of the Charolais sires  mentioned are at the top of the list for calving big calves .  The granddsire of Felony is at the end of the breed ..I would think
there are some Charolais X or Purebred  that would not have the extreme size an length that a lot of Charolais people want in their Purebred Charolais show cattle...  There is nobody I can think of that has more knowledge and proof about this subject than Kris Black...   There are a lot of these Charolais big bulls are going to bring to much mature weight  an frame . You need to find a purebred bull that fit your  specs  an then ask those  people that own himif any cross sons... The LEAD ON bull has been used this way in Texas Charolais  an owned by Thomas ranchs ....Also  Bar J RANCH in Liverpool ,Texas had   Reserve National Champion bull at Nationals last year ,HAMM   MOGO U23 he is quite  different than most of there National Champions ....The
X BULL MILKMAN should be a canidate ...

I would say Captain morgan before copper penny. Copper penny was small footed and handled like a calf months younger.

Honestly Luke if he was older I would no doubt use that bull! I was looking for a bull that resembles him because he is the real deal! If anybody is looking for a bull they need to take the trip out to Power's Cattle

We liked the looks of the Hamms Mogo bull enough that we have tried him on a FEW of our PB Charolais cows.  There are just now calves hitting the ground out of this bull.  We will have a few next March.  Biggest downside that I see with this bull is that we will be adding horns back into out cows.  We are being told not to be afraid of BW on him  will see in March 2011.  Mogo is very well balanced, big footed and not extreme and he is french a complete outcross to Wyoming Wind.

Jack Stutesville has a PB charolais bull that is a 5.5 frame at his place.  If you are in the Texas neighborhood take a look at him.  We raised this bull and are just now getting calves out of him.  Soft made, heavy muscled, and as of right know the calves are coming very easy.  He is still on Brad Hooks u tube channel on a video.

Just weaned the bull Stan.  I should be able to get video of him here shortly.  I finally just figured it out, not professional by any means but it works.  You're right, someone other than fellow Ohioans need to see this bull.  He is the real deal and could go promotional anywhere in the country.  Check it out or come see for yourself.  www,powersstock.com  Nice PLUG <party>

Vet Tech, I have been thinking about this bull for the last 2 days. The bull that Freddy raised and sold, Muddy Water. He deserves a look. He is a complete bull IMO.

I didn't see it and would call him sound. He is a larger framed bull & I don't know his TH & PHA status for sure.

Luke just went to the website and am adding a link here that will be easy for PPL to use to get there. Make sure that you either get a bunch of money for your bull calf or keep a big chunk of him. He looks good as well do your donors IMO.

Thanks CAB  we really love this first calf heifer.  I believe that she is going to have a bright future.  If you get by the Am Royal stop in and see her The calf at her side in the picture was just a baby at that point.  He will be almost a grown up at the royal it will be her last hoorah as a pair for this year.
