Please someone help me. I brought home some heifers I bought for my son yesterday. The problem is that the trailer floor got too slick and they were sliding around. Some of the heifers were down in the trailer. We got them all to walk of the trailer and they were walking around the field yesterday. Some did have a limp and the one was still limping today. Should I be concerned or should I just wait and see?

Invest in rubber mats for your trailer. Hope your calves are ok!

Any swelling in the hocks??  10ml of Dexium... We keep Dex around all the time, You can buy DMSO from Sullivans if the heifer will allow you to massage the joint (wear gloves), but starting now,  I would put her in the wash rack and perform hydro therepy on the joints you think are infected...15-20 minutes

Hmm, never heard of Dexium??? If they were my heifers, I would just wait a while, probably just sore and sprained.  If there isnt any swelling, it will go away in time.

Google it... Called Dex for short by most and is a strong anti-inflammatory...Maybe people up North use something different but most people in the South with any expirence showing cattle have heard of it...
