We just had our 3rd calf this morning. 1 cow was purchased, so I did not have a due date. 1 heifer was supposed to be open when I bought her last spring, but obviously was not, and the other cow was one we raised and this was her third calf. All 3 calves this year have been very large. The cow we raised has been bred to the same bull each time, and this calf was 14 pounds heavier than the heaviest of the previous two. Our calf size has been very average over the past three years, but so far, this winter has been much, much colder than the last three. Here's hoping the weather straightens out soon.
