For us, he seems to follow the cow and make a better version of her most of the time. If your heifer is really good haired then you should be fine with HC. I've seen some HC's that weren't the shag haired type. Goes back to HC follows the cow. I like AOD and the Outsider both but I wouldn't feel comfortable using them on heifers. The JPJ lines are good CE options which several sons and grandsons have already been mentioned. We haves used JSF Jazz 34S on heifers and really liked the calves.
