Jackson is a different type Im not sure if you are looking for show heifers or county stuff how he would work on the types you have there Havent seen calves cause hes just out on cows but- the Canadian xHotcommodity xHaumontx Old Schrag breeding is North of 49- Ryan Wernicke has him hes on Cattle visions or SEK  JIT had him on a thread here about a year ago as a calf-the pics are from that thread A couple of the usuals were more or less comparing him to a completely unrelated bull from several years ago forseeing future calamity Time will tell in a few months hes been in Illinois awhile I have one Im using him on or more if I get them back to Salina KS Hes a goodlooking soft made bull and again almost complete outcross to everything Different type somewhat than Comptons Possibly not quite the power and length but hed sure ad real rib and substance and a very good mixture proven of blood in him O0

Salty dog worked well to make mommas but for us his steers suffered from the nasty noassatall disease. We have a handful of cows that are out of him though and never fails they have our best calves every year and they never lack the muscle but like I said steers directly from him we were not impressed with.  Free for all every now and then pops up in a champ shorthorn steer down here. Never bred anything to him. We also have a cow out of the heatwave fakehorn powerhouse that is a steer making momma.

Several good bull suggested. Like stated before it just depends what you end goal is. Ours is to make steers for down here in texas so don't have to be registered. So when it comes to breeding I just make sure the bull fits the cow and that I know if I get a heifer will I be mad. Sounds like your wanting to get that next generation of cows that will eventually make ya some mommas that will raise show strings for ya. We did the same thing and I crossed my shorthorn and sshorthorn+ cows with clubby bulls that were known to throw color or that had shorthorn hidden in the wood pile. Not the most popular thing to do for some but down here its the ticket.

Take a look at Bullnanza or thegenesourse if your interested in any of the texas shorthorn bulls. Kevin Newman in Stanton is collecting and raising some dang good ones. No be it that are not registered but good cattle be good cattle.

Kevin Newman out in west texas owns him, Bullnanza in sweetwater carry the semen. This is the first I have ever known Kevin to let things out to the public. He likes to keep things in house and only really share with ppl he really knows. I have known him since i was a sophomore in High School, my ag teacher then and him are really good friends. Its actually how I got started in this whole deal. I have some really good stories for of both them and Brandon Horn , but for another time and place.  (lol)
Tonto Is a Sacred Ground X Monopoly, and Painted man is a MAB X Sullivan Shorthorn. I could probably call  and really figure out what the shorthorn is but he would probably tell me it doesnt matter its texas (lol)

We own the Steck Chelsie bs 801 cow. She was impressive as a heifer and even more so as a cow. We plan on flushing her soon and more so after weaning her heifer calf. We’re pretty excited to have a piece of the Chelsie bloodline. And I have a few matings I’m really interested in seeing on her.

Thanks for the info. I really like the painted man bull. It would be cool if he was registered.  That tonto bull looks a little to coarse for my liking but he could sure help put some beef in a few!
