I know nothing of the breeders you asked. However if you are looking into red angus cattle I urge you to look into Lonesome Creek Angus (LCA)

I saw their also. I don't know much. Whenever I get a sale cattle log..........the first thing I always do is look at the dams of all the cattle selling. Did that outfit raise the dam? How about the grandam? To me it tells me whether or not the outfit has a plan or program. If the dam wasn't raised by the outfit........my thought is......they're a cattle trader and not a cattle breeder. I spose it doesn't if you are talking about show cattle. To me.....a breeder should be stacking traits or stacking epds or type or something.

for example, lets take two embryo's in a sale that has the same picture and label it with breeder number 1 that has the highest average sales each year and the other, a smaller breeder.
that calf will have a significant price jump in the sale of the leading breeder.
everyone knows this so they "cattle trade" by putting those animals in pedigrees to attempt to get some sort of premium over their own cattle which may in fact be more consistent, better suited to a life without supplemental feed, etc. this is done to attract buyers who don't want to pay the premium of breeder #1 but still have those genetics and perpetuate the process.
almost everyone knows it and we keep supporting this pyramid scheme.
on the other hand, maybe someone is just starting out, finds animals they like and are just going through the motions of any starting out producer instead of changing breeds every 5 years, maybe they infuse popular genetics every so often.
it's only human.
maybe compare the above scenario with changing breeds often. not sure that's a winning strategy either.

They have purchased walking sires or bought semen from red hill farms in Lafayette TN. All were solid bulls with solid cows behind them. They also ended up with cows from the “Beebe” herd; those cows were lasting a long time. I know he has bought cows from beckton and Ohlde’s black red carrier and red cows aswell. The overall focus in my opinion is moderation of frame while keeping acceptable growth, calving ease, carcass, and most importantly stacking wide body cows in the pedigree. I’ve never meet Rick but his son, daughter, and wife are really nice people who seem genuine.
