It has been quite different this year as far as livestock shows have gone, but here we are in State Fair season.

Just curious if anyone here in Steerplanet even follows the steer shows anymore.

Has anyone seen any steers at the State Fairs and District Shows that really impressed them?

We did not have a State Fair, nor did we have any County Fairs in our area, hard to speak about it when it just did not happen this year. Virtual shows is what the kids had, I did not see those so I got nothing for you.

Was able to watch the Colorado state fair Grand Drive, really a nice set of steers and Connelly picked a good one, I was watching online so the little details are hard to catch, I personally liked the steer he used for reserve better but you could see him better.

Here I Am steers were grand and reserve at our state youth market show. The #s were down but the quality was good as ever. If families had a good 1, they brought him.

Probably need to rename. Old bulls talking beef history. We need a new genetic defect to argue about.

The sale results have been pulled down.  Was that Ryan Johnson's sale?

Medium Rare, we had a really nice Wynne in Doubt calf and as we weaned him and put him over on to full feed he fell apart.  Really looks more Angus as he matures and has no chest floor. He is growing well and will finish nice as a beef steer, but not as a show steer.  Tons of hair though, used on a smaller framed power cow I think he would be great.  Just my observations.

Too many "unknowns" with future shows. If people had one ready I think they wanted to get them shown rather than wait for their target show that may not happen.

Having a goat show across the fence from a steer show of this magnitude just seems like a bad idea. I've noticed multiple kids miss their mark and have to circle after their steer noticed and reacted to the weird little creature across the fence that they've probably never seen before.

Decent numbers I would say.  Not the biggest but for sure respectable!

It seems to me (if I remember correctly) that there are always 2 rings going during the steer show in KC.  I remember goats or sheep but also remember a breed show going in the other ring.

Top half of most classes looks pretty solid.  I don't know if there has been one that really jumped off the screen at me.  Maybe the reserve Division 2 steer.  Bell steer is probably one that I have to see in person to understand how good he is.
