I'll bet it's not a Brahman, Gert, or Angus...lol.

Didn't one of the Rash Brothers win HLS&R with an American one year?
No they didn't.  They won the Brahman breed a few times.  They won the whole show with a Limousin the only time they won it.  A Bahman was reserve grand about 10 years ago with the Pfiel (sp) Family.

My bets who will hae sold the winner include Copus or Horn maybe Maddox.

I saw a good black and white Chi. that won a middle weight class and One yellow and white AOB that was pretty tough.

It says hes a simmy. And the reserve is a AOB. This is the only article I have found so far. I am sure tomarow we will see the full story.

the other way around

Any of these kids put a lot into this,” said Chuck Barton, whose 12-year-old son Christopher won top honors for 1,300-pound “Yellow Jacket.” The Grand Champion Junior Market Steer, from the category of All Other Breeds, will be auctioned off today. The sixth-grader from Jarrell will get at least $75,000.

The reserve grand champion was “Yeller,” a Simmental raised by Justin James, 17, of Prosper. James is guaranteed at least $40,000

I watched the Grand Steer in class and for breed champion.  Super smooth, great walking, pretty calf that was very powerful - but definitively not the thickest steer in his class. Judge said he was "perfectly" finished which I'd guess was true by the way he looked.

Great kid by the way also from what I know.

Didn't see the Simi.
