What cows is he working best? What does he add or take from calf? Have some semen to use was wondering how to best make use of it. Hoping to breed up some high% maintainers with some roaning.

Seems like a good bull. Seen a few of them here in Texas. I like that they have sexed heifer semen available. For sure he's a low bw bull That throws a lot of color. I've seen a pretty good white one that @MaineEvent raised so I'm pretty interested in trying him out.

I guess I'm more of a JPJ guy on Trump bred heifers since thats what we have a lot of. I will be buying a few straws on Capiche this summer But I'm also gonna buy some Star Burst too.

Most likely these cattle have a hard time competing in the female show ring against Trump bred cattle. But if your breeding for show steers its the other way around.

I've also been interested as well. I want to breed him to a couple of our Angus, I think he will work good on the few I have picked. I'm also wondering how his daughters are in production? I've been wanting to know if anyone has or not? We do raise cattle for show.  Thanks in advance.

Capiche sold by Select Sires is a better calving ease bull than Jakes Proud Jazz in my experience. He will sire moderate framed cattle and they should be easy fleshing and keeping. He is a DS defect carrier I believe as a lot of JPJ sons are. I think they grow well and finish quick at a lighter weight.

I used him on a big big  salute x double  stuff cow that needed some depth of rib. Cow is pure white and got a white calf with skin spots. I don't have a picture of her on my new phone but if you search on here you can find pictures of her on several threads involving capiche. She came at 75-80 pounds but smooth built was real impressed with the calf and she got better. Just needed a shot of frame for me to really love her but a good solid calf out of a first calf heifer. Used Capiche  for the last 3 years on heifers and even used him on smaller framed 2nd calvers.  First year average 77#,  second year 75# and this year I would estimate the same.  Have had a total of 16 calves over 3 years.  Only got 1 heifer the first year and she just had a calf sired by JSF Gauge.  Capiche heifer was out of a big framed Massive daughter and we thought she might be on the too small side but has grown into a very moderate cow and doing a good job as a first time momma.  Her Gauge calf is nice but on a side note wouldn't recommend using Gauge on heifers.    Capiche calves do grow well and have style but one complaint on most calves they could be longer and maybe a little thicker but overall very nice calves.    We sell a few club calves in the fall and the rest we feed out. They do finish around 1200# or so which is perfect for our locker beef market.

He wasn't even close to the best JPJ son JSF offered in 09 much less the best jpj son available to date.  Why are people still using this bull?  This is the peril of semen studs: they push what they hold an interest in and not what's the best for the end user.

There are 2 sides to the coin JMO-1st: getting anybody to use a Shorthorn at all and then do it again is a good thing-VERY little of that is happening in the US Much less very many AVAILABLE THAT ARE: under-$50-per straw non-Syndicated next big thing-Members only,fake as hell EPDS etc)  Guage is available and marketed as calving ease-HE IS NOT. I think the Canadian cattle hold alot of hope for real world calves here: (just about all of them-with a number of hiefer bulls)  along with the Captain obvious clan and JTMS bullls, and bulls like :Hot Commodity-even tho some people dont want to pay $50 to try a Shorthorn.Also : Sull Payday,BSF Master Prince, the 3 other Jakes Shorthorns and one low percent simm, on SEK, The Elbee bulls-like Throw back,and the Creole deal from Kaehlers:and Arsulu Osage and Massive etc.And although maybe not all hiefer bulls- ANY Waukaru bull available, ESPECIALLY PATENT. The $100 a straw JSF Broker-is a JOKE-and I find it embarrassing to see stupidity like that: guess a few of his fat ass owners need more barbecue,and chocalate sundaes ,thats probably what he eats LOL O0  2  : I would agree there were some good JPJ sons-I think the clubby ones certainely had a wider audience-But I liked the big growthy one from Jungels (mita gone back to the DJS Rodeo cow)that went to Canada and used to be on an avatar here-(cant remember his name now) What in your opinion BTW-IS THE BEST JPJ SON? Neither one show my interest to be used, as by pedigree as by genetics status.
Agree with XBAR, semen companies sell us what they wish, not exactly what we look for!
Bad in US worst in Brazil, no available bulls for a minimum choice.
I'm bringing my genetics from Argentina, better type, better prices, better cattle.

Mark, hope to you get good results with Argentinian blood. The phenotype is some different and can add more meat and some character, on genotype they are so similar to north americvan cattle from 80's as Tribune, Enticer, Clark, TNT Fastrak were ideally used there.
