Carpet over shavings???

I have a hard time getting bark and mulch locally to bed cattle on concrete floors.

As a Shop teacher I regularly have wood shavings and sawdust from prepping wood.

Would it work well to place about 4" of shavings down and then place carpet over? (Cattle tied and cleaning daily of course)

You will find the carpet in a wad somewhere other than where iyou wan it to be in about 5 minutes
