plain black has been the prefered color for a while and i was wondering if anyone else thinks that black with any variation of white face markings will be the next big deal.

I think black with a white face or blaze already is, for sure on the heifer side.

I think there will always be colour fads but black will always be popular.
I have to agree on that with you I always think that black ones will have a place in the show ring

Looking at the results of the major shows in the last few months it looks like the Char crosses are pretty popular right now!  When you compare the number of smokeys and peach colored calves entered to the number of blacks they have done awfully well.  I think if the animals were equal otherwise a lot of people would prefer a black baldy to a plain black just to make them stand out a little  more in the ring!!  JMHO

I agree I am very big on making sure my calves have that one notable marking. Many really good all black calves get passed over because they fit right in.

Colored calves seem to win slick shows around here..Not as many blacks. Blacks just are not as eye appealing slicked as they are in hair shows.
