Clipper Blade ??

I need to buy new blades for my flathead , what size do you use on the head ? Also what blades can you not live without for either flathead or andis?? Thanks I going to get some tomorrow and need you help!!

You could do a whole calf if you had to with an Andis 2speed, a #10 blade and a blocking blade.  However the blending blades are handy.  The T-84 is handy too...

I am not an expert by any means, but I would echo the thoughts on the T-84.  I also personally like the 5/8ths inch blades for the Andis for necks.  (I think they also call it an A-5)

All I need to clip a whole calf are a medium blade to rough them out, and a really sharp blocking blade to finish them out.

I would strongly advise anyone to invest in the Andis cattle head. They are great clippers. Quietest clippers I have ever used. On calves that have never had their heads clipped they are great.

Andis super blocking blade and  X blocks. Really like both of these blades.

I really like the X-block blade.  It is sharper than the super blocking blade.  They are a gift from heaven when you are clipping a leg with adhesive in it.  As for the flathead I use the Wahl/Lister Stablemate and love them.  They are extremely quiet and I use the medium(.08) blade to shave heads with.

I purchased the 5/8's blade, and I hate it, hard to get it to cut hair. I use the heck out of my medium blades. I have used about all the ones they make, and my favorite by far is the new one Called X-blend from sullivans. I have actually clipped a few heads with my blending blades in a pinch and it actually looks better then using the #10's. I also love my opti block and Xblock blades.

I use an old pair of Oster/Sunbeam flatheads for the head and peeling neck. For the rest of the body I have an Andis 2 speed and use the medium and blocking blade. I love them.

My kids love using the T-84 blade for clipping heads and areas where they don't want an aggressive cut. They first started using them with dairy animals because the can clip the hair short and it leaves a pretty smooth and clean look. Clip with the direction that the hair lays so that you don't take too much hair off.

I'm sorry but you NEED some smaller clippers, like Andis 2 Speeds.  They are small and lightweight and you can do an entire calf with them.  Andis 2 Speeds and like 5 sets of blades cost as much as a cheap set of flatheads.

I bought a brand new set of Andies 2 speeds on ebay for around 80 bucks.  They work great, I would look on there.  Last time I looked they had a bunch of them.
