Clipper Question

Wondering if anyone has ran Laube Litening Clippers, as well as the Andis 5 speeds.  Looking for a valid comparison/opinion.

I bought a pair of the 5-speeds HOT for $150 brand new in the box. Personally, I dont think there is a better feeling clipper out there. they are so light and small (i have small hands), and I feel like i can carve a line 10x better with them when compared to the orginal 2 speeds. with that being said, my 2 speeds are Mr.Reliable. I have had to rebuild my 5 speeds twice in a year. Once they just completely quit working for no reason. nothing was wrong, I tore them down and put them back together and they worked. Last time, I had to tear the  part of where the plasic fins are that the blade also attachs tooo and replace it with one off of my spare 2 speeds/ (same part). The other thing I noticed is, the 5 speeds sure will heat up on you fast. But the ANDIS COOL LUbe. it is magical with those clippers running smooth. With that being said, I have had some bad  luck with my 5 speeds but they are so comfy in my hand that its all i will ever use, But for the Money, I have had my 2 speeds for 9 years now and never replaced a thing on them. They are a perfectly good clipper and I would highly recommend them as MY MR.RELIABLES! hope this helps

i bought the andis 5-speed clipper and i love it. the only thing that i don't like is that it has a box on the outlet where you plug it in.

I have used a set of the Laube clippers and did like them.  Light, fast, small frame, but do have a tendency to get warm with use.  Haven't used the 5 speeds much but have seen them out around the circuit quite a bit.  Going to be investing in a new set, but thought I would test the water a bit.  Thank you for the input.

I have got two pair of the Laube. They run 9000 to 10,000 Strokes per minute Versus 4000 to 4500 On the Andis What a good set Xblocks And go to town It takes a lot of stress off Of the clipping. I cannot stand To use the slower speeds. Put a little glue and UltraWhite And notice the difference.

had a buddy try my laubes yesterday while i was clipping my heifer down at nwss. He just bought a pair of 5 speeds. He liked the size and weight of the 5 speeds better. But said he liked the laubes better not 400 dollars better, but if I found another pair on craigslist for cheap to pick them up. With the laubes when you clip it just cuts the hair right off there isn't the little bit of knock down that you get with slower clippers.

I bought a new set of 5-speeds a little over a year ago and love them so far. They seem to be a little easier to carve with just because of they are easier to manipulate and control due to their size. One thing to keep in mind is that you don't really need to run them on the top speed setting unless you are fitting. If you are just clipping and your calf is clean, the 3rd setting is usually sufficient. This helps keep things cooler and also will help keep your blades sharper longer because they are not heating up as much and causing friction.

As for the power box on the end of the cord, I just connect it to one of the brown thin extension cords and then wrap it up in a good bit of vet wrap. This keeps it from cracking on the cement when you are using it and it also helps you identify which set are yours when there are 6-7 pairs littering the chute area. Pick an oddball color so you know it is yours.

I have trouble with my 5 speeds leaving tracking lines in hair if I don't run them full bore all the time.  I also don't use them on glue, just hair.  I don't know why, but I get the feeling that they won't hold up as well as the 2 speeds with paint and glue.
