I am looking for recommendations for sales to go to for Club Calf Bulls for sale. I am looking to buy a clean up bull coming up. But I am looking to buy a terminal style club calf bull that is a easy calving bull as I have been increasing my herd by 5 to 7 heifers a year so my herd is very young and will be buying more heifers this fall to breed next spring (Spring 2013). I looked at the Apex sale that was advertised here on SP this spring and wish I had bid on some of them bulls. There were alot of nice clubby bred bulls that would of made nice clean up bulls but the easy calving ones were slim pickings. So I am looking for advice from people that would recommend certain sales to look for club calf bulls for sale and would have a decent amount to look through for some easy calving ones. Thanks for any advice.

You'd have a better chance of finding Sasquatch.

Call Dennis Garwood at Green Valley Cattle in NE.

is easy calving and club calf fit to use in the same sentence?

I have a Garwood 209 son in the pasture next to my house, he's interesting to look at.

Try finding a Who Made Who bull x Maine Anjou. I used him on heifers with success. Sold one (bull) 2 years ago to a neighbor out of a Maine Anjou heifer and he's very exciited on the outcome. I dont have any WMH bull calves this year.

Believe it or not there are clubby bulls that can be easy calving and terminal at the same time. I leased a bull that was an Ali X Who Made Who cow that was easy calving and the calves were clubby built. If all my cows were 3 to 4 years old or older I would go with a Monopoly or other clubby bull. I need the bull to catch the ones that don't take from the AI and want my own clean up bull without having to lease one anymore. I am open to waiting till this winter as I am looking to get one for next years breeding season.

If it were me, then I would buy a maternal bull to run cleanup, and AI everything else...  But that's just me.

Everyone thanks for your posts, not ignoring you. I have been in Chicago for the past 6 days for my work and just got back late last night. I did not have internet out there except by my phone which takes forever and looking to get a 4G Iphone soon. But anyway I got several PM's and looking through the messages. The reason I want a more terminal style bull is I have way more maternal style cows than clubby cows that I do AI, just looking for a good clean up bull to catch what don't take from AI but will still be good calves. I got some time but want to get something going by next spring to have for next years breeding. This year I was blessed with some really good heifer calves just no bull calves that will fit my needs for a clean up bull. I will read through the posts and PM's and look into them, thanks for the replies.

He should be plenty mature enough by next breeding season (Late May early June 2013) to be breeding. So this spring bull calves would probably work just fine even though I would be concerned about his calving ease being a Monopoly Money X Who Da Man. I will probably get a different clean up bull in 3 or 4 years but I am building my herd by 5 or more heifers each year so I will have to stick with a easy calving bull for a couple years.

Talk to Mark Mueler-Diamond M Cattle Co.-Hiawatha KS-NCK21 on here just bought 2 GOOD ones-One would have been out of a full sib to DMCC BodybiluderxMaine-to be used on a pretty clubby deal. I liked both bulls-Bodybuilder by the way-is the sire of GVR Bouncer-one of the most widely used low BW Maines there is-and his cattle ARE THICK O0

Pretty much the pedigree of our red maine bull, who's dam is a full sister to TLM Bouncer-- they are grand offspring of the Body Builder bull...
