My FAVS are both K-State and KU.  Having moved to Oklahoma from Kansas when I was still under the age of 2, I was raised a KANSAS fan.  My Mom grew up wanting to someday attend KU, and my Dad was raised never considering college, but not too far from Manhattan.  Until the past few years my allegiance had always leaned toward K-State.  I was a big fan of Cotton Fitzsimmons, Tex Winter, Lon Kruger, and even Jim Wooldridge.  Wooldridge was probably my biggest K-State disappointment.  I knew him from his days as Grad. Asst. Coach at East Central University right here in Ada, OK.  His sister is also married to a cousin of my wife.  I'll never understand what happened with him at KSU.  He was a great recruiter.  He learned his coaching from one of the very best, Wayne Cobb.  He has had very good success where ever he has been, except with the Wildcats.  Still, for quite some time, most of my cheers are for the Jayhawks.

I'll never forget my defining moment of Kansas Basketball.  It was a home game at OU.  They were playing KU.  I was 8 - 10 at the time.  KU's "BIG" man was Wayne Hightower.  This guy could dribble, pass, shoot, block shots, rebound like no big guy in the country.  The Jayhawks absolutely dismantled the Sooners.

This year may be the year I sway back toward the Cats.  Beasley is SO much fun to watch!  I couldn't get the game the other night, but found it on AM radio, real scratchy, out of Coffeyvile. Even at it's worst, the game sounded like a barn burner.  You know, it's not a bad idea to have two teams to call my favorite.

The only way the game could have been any better is if K-State would have moved the location to Ahearn Fieldhouse, but the university couldn't have made as much money that way.

just seems like every year its the same schools in college ball, a few exceptions here and there, like the george mason team a few years ago, suprises every where lol.

But around these parts, on friday night, if not at the game, ur nowhere, back when our team didnt suck like this year (currently 2-13  :-\ ) the target was on our backs and technicals flyin left and right on the crowds, cant beat it man lol, went and won the state title, cant beat that feelin....

on a side note, how bout kenny george    7 ' 8 360....

Kenny George goes to college at a school about 20 minutes from where I live and I read about him every morning in the sports section of the paper.

What happened there?  That was horrible!  And Mizzou had 5 players on suspension.

I think actually most them played except for Hannah.  I think they might have changed the suspension to just 1 game, hence the game earlier in the week.

Very frustrating after winning the biggest game in years and finally getting the monkey off our back of beating KU at bramledge
