I was just wondering if anyone has seen Connealy Thunder's progeny and how they were looking?

I'll try to post a pic soon. I have to catch her when she's not standing in knee deep mud!Shadow Hill Farm said:lightnin4 said:I've got one Thunder calf on the ground this fall. Thanks would love to see pics! I've heard that he is supposed to be a really good bull but I haven't seen any calves out of him yet. Keep me posted on how your fall calf comes along please. Worthabit I would love to here about yours when they calve.

lightnin4 said:Here is a javascript:void pick of our Thunder heifer that I snapped with my cell phone. Sorry about the mud. ;D Her dam is a compact made first calf heifer sired by Bismark out of a 5175 cow. I had another heifer bred to Thunder, but she got into something and aborted her calf last month.

Thanks for the pic! Not a bad looking heifer! <cowboy> Would like to see more pics as she grows! Sorry to hear your other one aborted!! The thing we all dread either that or a dead calf! I know what you mean about the mud! It's never ending. Looking forward to some freezing temperatures to freeze the ground up!
lightnin4 said:The one that aborted was between 6-7 months along. I sent the fetus and placenta to the necropsy lab, but they didn't come up with any infectious causes (which is good). We think she probably ate some bad hay.

That's a nice looking calf! Are you selling him or you showing him yourself?

My 9 y/o is showing him.
Here are our two calves. 4Z was born Jan 6th 3 days late at 82 lbs from a MVF VRD Dateline heifer . He was larger framed than I expected. 19Z was born Feb 10th 6 days late at 50 lbs from a Youngdale Touchdown 36M heifer. I know some of you like these 50 pounders and I will reserve judgement until weaning but I think they are too small. There is no reason why a 1200 lb good conditioned heifer can't have a 75-85lb calf unassisted.worthabit said:Worthabit I would love to here about yours when they calve.
