After our TV got fired by lightning, we decided to splurge & but a new one. Now, we don't have cable or satellite so we are limited on channels. What we did get was TIVO. Now I can automatically record all my Law & Order shows. We can also pause during a show & then watch from the point we stopped at. You can put a show into slow motion for example sports or freeze the frame if you want to check whether someone was in or out. It's really a cool system & I'm just now getting the bugs worked out. Oh yes, you can fast forward the commercials on some shows!!!!

How did you ever live without Tivo?  ;D  It is the greatest invention ever (forget sliced bread think TIVO).

We TIVO everything, and I mean everything.  Live TV is terrible.

I think maybe we as americans are a little spoiled.....  I grew up watching 3 channels and Fox if you could construct a contraption of beer cans and aluminum foil to use as an antenna.  Our TV was one of those console ones that weighed about 500 pounds.  When my dad finally got rid of it a couple years ago and we were hauling it to the trash hole, i laid the TV on its back and put the loader bucket right across the front and lifted the front end of the tractor off the ground, no lie.  I didn't know what Tivo was until about a year ago.

You'll never be able to watch "live" tv again, the commercials will drive you crazy!!  I intentionally wait until a show has been on for about 20 min, rewind, and then start watching, that way you can FF through all the commercials.    (clapping)

We still just have 3 channels, not in enough to justify satellite.  However, it would be nice to have TIVO.  My folks have it, and I've decided it's pretty darn handy!
