We just bought one of those that had the 24 hour dial, it's white and you push in the times you want it to run.

thanks this is my pride and joy calf, i wish this wasnt my last year showing at my county show b/c i'm actually gettin into the showing now not just the money. Ya well most in Florida have a hard time keeping hair on calves during summer but it seems to me my calves hair grow better in summer then winter. At walmart they had a timer that u can put in a start time and  interval time, mine is on 2hrs off 2 hrs all day long, right now since school is out i keep it on from 10am-3pm. I'll get a picture of timer and how its set up 2marro for u. Also i have a row of misters hung across my pen and then my fans blow the misters everywhere so it keeps the whole pen kool. All u have to do is put the timer where u connect the hose to the mister or where ever u want it to be connected to. Ya that picture is after a quick clip job and his legs arent blown out real good, usually his front legs look HUGE!! That picture was of him yesterday.

yes like that but our walmart had a 6 mister,12 mister and a circle one. Ours were cheaper than that one also. I like the ones from walmart a whole lot better doesnt flood my stall as bad.( I have a sorta low roof) I have my misters hung from the ceiling draping down a lil bit and then my fan is on one side and the misters sorta cover my whole stall and it keeps the whole stall cool instead of one area. like the artic circles do.

The key to misters is making sure they don't put out too much volume. You don't really want to keep your cattle soaked all the time, you want most of the mist to evaporate - that's where you get the cooling. You can put together your own from the sprayer parts available at your co-op or farm/ranch supply, just be careful to get nozzles that put out a fine mist with low volume - you might even have to have them special order it for you. Of course the misters sold by the show suppliers or as patio misters come with that kind of nozzles, and can often be bought cheaper.

walmart misters are much better. I know some people that make there own out of pvc pipe. they are pretty good too.

thats what we did, and i love em. we attached the finished product to a board above their stalls and use a fan to circulate the moisture... works just as well as the other ones we've bought from wal-mart in my opinion.
