i had a fever about all last week but it's gone now, no mucus. just annoying spot in my throat keeps me coughing. its about done now

well you are probably on the tail end of your cold. Just a simple cough suppressant should do the trick. If you had other symptoms I would say visit the urgent care.

there is a real problem at the moment with antibiotics. We have over prescribed them and that is why you are seeing resistant strains more and more frequently. I do not do antibiotics unless I absolutely have to.

I have never tried this, but have heard that if you take a huge dose of laxative--  you wont dare cough!

Delsym works the best for me.  Vicks is the best for helping ease the congestion as well.  Warm whiskey with honey will also work.  If you are really desperate you can do what my aunt did to me and the cousins when we got a sore throat "back in the day".  She would swab our throat with methiolate.  Nasty, but effective!!

is there anything out that actually stops the cough. I have the cough from hell right now (EVERY 5 SECONDS) and it's starting to get to me  :'(

          I know i had this HORRIBLE cough and my ribs hurt and i just had this pain right below the rib . i took lots of cough syrup and cough drops

rub vicks on throat & chest at night.

Also slop Vicks on the bottom of your feet and put on a pair of heavy wool socks when you go to bed.  Works great for young children who can't have cough medicine.  It makes me feel like i'm soaking in a hot tub.  Try it.

mucinex did not help it at wall. tried it
