Cow Choking on Placenta

I think it's, yes, there's a reason they do it-And ,yes, they can choke on it.

My kids were born at home so there was a question of what to do with the placenta.
My idea was to bury it in some old growth type woods so the dna of my little son could mix with the trees. Very ceremonious. However,  the following day I went to check up on the site and found that a skunk had been there and now my babe's DNA was filtering into skunk waste. I was a little disappointed.
That kid has been 30 years of trouble. Was it my fault he attracted a skunk instead of an oak?
There are only so many things we can control in life, so I would not worry about the cow choking too much.
Parenthood is risky, I say let nature take its course, but take precautions.
With son #2, I dug a deeper hole right under the old oak and piled rocks on top.
That kid has been steadfast from day one. We learn.
