I have been updating our website, www.waukaru.net, with pictures, pedigrees, and EPD's of our offering in Cow Power 33 on September 14, 2013.  Videos to be taken in a couple of weeks.  Let me know what you think.

I'm looking forward to seeing the complete sale offering. I am very pleased with the females we have purchased in your last 3 sales. All have adjusted well to our conditions and all have been producing good calves. We now have 5 Patent females in production and I think they are definitely going to work with a variety of sires. I love their udders and their milking ability. I have already purchased my plane ticket to this year's sale.

The Patent x Coppertop cross pretty well jumps out at me:Red Nan 2035,Orion bull,Ruby Rose 7603-I didnt check to see if they were full sibs-they are just extremely good:and to me-are by far the best ones pictured overall so far.-JMO.Also JMO-the Lassie Durham Red-blows everything away. Its too bad the Durham Red thing didnt get more support (coming from am outsider of sorts) from the Association-At least in the picture-thats one hell of a cow in any breed: and I wouldnt be surprised if a known club producer comes with some money.  O0

Was just looking this afternoon at the Goldmine 5059 dtr that I bought at Cagwins' sale this spring that came from Waukaru originally. She is a really nice cow that is hard for me to fault. I see that they are selling a maternal sister to her by 464 in the sale.

Doc, I loved the Waukaru cow you bought at Cagwin's. I agree that she is pretty hard to fault. She was one of the very best there IMO.

Mark,
I agree, the Patent 8161  x Coppertop 464 has worked very well and we pare producing more examples.  The Lassie females have been very good to us, they respond to what ever we ask of them, and Doc this 464 daughter is worth the trip!

Does anyone have results from the sale?

Here are the results I got. I missed a few when I was on the phone. I thought this offering was the deepest set of good working females that Waukaru has offered in a while. I have purchased several females from Waukaru in past sales and every one of them has worked here in our herd. Even with a sale gross of over $218,000 and a sale average of over $2850, I thought there were many excellent buys in this sale. Cattle sold to 15 states and 4 Provinces.  And as always, the hospitality shown by the entire Jordan family was second to none.

Phenotypically, Lot #55 is hard to fault. It is ot surprising to me, she sold for over 5K to an experienced Cattleman.

The donor program flushing option on top of her carried quite a bit of value as well.  She was definitely one of the lots that made the short list.

The lot 55 cow was one of the better cows in the sale IMO. I was planning on taking a run at her in this sale, but when the sale started and the dam of Patent was selling for far below what I expected, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase her. ( She has produced over $220,000 in herd sires alone, and every heifer she has produced has been retained in the Waukaru herd).

I think the flush option that Waukaru offers on some females is one of the best deals you can find anywhere. They keep the cow and pay all costs including the flush costs, for 1/2 the embryos produced. In past sales I have purchased 3 females that they have offered the flush option on. I have received 28 embryos for no additional cost from these females. I don't know of any other place you could do the same. In this years sale, the choice lot 75 a, b, and c, were out of a female I purchased with Darrell Ippenson, Bowen, IL and these are some of the calves Jordans got from their share of the embryos. I haven't implanted mine yet, but after seeing these calves I will be making arrangements to get them in. They were very nice calves.
