Here are my thoughts from when I looked at the bulls.
Rodger's Bull Getcha Some was my favorite followed up his other bull Mr. Misunderstood.
Both were extremely well made and put together really well. As well being two of the best and boldest bodied there and still being really attractive. They were not overwhelming in turns of with but they sure have enough. Mr. Misunderstood doesn't have some rundown over used type of pedigree either. Some might not think they are stout/ wide enough. But you can change width in one generation, not build. Thought we need more bulls built like them.
I wasn't impressed with Matt Launter bulls.
Saw American Pharoah in the wash rack and it wasn't pretty. On display, he was rounder hipped and just didn't bring much of anything the table.
A lot of his black bulls were really stout, really wide. but horrible footed, really bad ankles. Small feet, big bones is not a good combination. I actually took pictures of their feet cause I was the appalled.
Black Power Play is Launter's I believe son. Built more like Rodgers stuff then his other black bulls.
El Toro: I'm Texas so I'm familiar with slicks. I saw him Haired. Huge, huge back, and it was the same story from behind. Didn't like his shoulder, and I thought that his forerib was horrible and rib shape wasn't right for slicks. I wasn't a fan. But with that being said I could see him getting a lot of fans and usage down here.
El chapo was long, big legged.
Rockstar: I was pleasantly surprised. He looked really young still (I believe his banner said he was a march) which I didn't mind. Good looking, stout hipped, I thought he was still made pretty good.
See No evil. Good made, good looking, sound. Got behind him thought he disappeared. I appreciate what Raymond is trying to do tho, sound cattle with different pedigrees. Just really disappointed from a wide and muscle perspective. His bull Strip Tease was interesting, and intriguing. Deep deep healed and extra deep bodied. Still pretty stout. He just looked really squatty. Kinda concerned me.
Money In The Bank didn't look like anything like his picture, I was disappointed.
Loaded For Bear: Extremely wide, really really big pinned.
BTO: I liked. thought he could make some slicks. bigger shouldered.
Several of my judging team member liked U Need me. I didn't really study him though. He could be worth some more discussion.
I studied most bulls. Tried to cover most of the bulls people would ask about in this post.
I have pictures that I can post later.
KKshowcattle thank you for your feedback on See No Evil. I just wanted to clarify we do not own Strip Tease, that bull was on display for Todd Fair, the breeder of that bull and then sold to another group.
