Docilty scores

I am curious to how much weight or attention people are giving the DOC EPDs. Looking at Primo and Style's scores has me curious as to how their offspring are to manage.

I would say, as with any other EPD, as long as the accuracy is high the numbers breed true.  Those bulls have stupid calves compared to bulls with better docility epds in general. Think of an angus bull that has generally gentle calves and look at his score.  Then think of a goofy one.  Look at his score. Pretty self explanatory.

Was helping friends video breds the other day.  There were a few Simmentals that when put in the picture pen by themselves were downright waspy.  Big ol' white eyes and snot and lots of fence climbing by them and us. They weren't bad in a herd though.

I had one style bull calf and as soon as I managed to get him on a trailer, straight to the sale barn he went. He was crazy and he was the kind that would hurt you. Anybody else have this problem with Style progeny?

Have had quite a few Style/Maine and Style/Limi calves and haven't had one I couldn't break but they are consistently the last to give up and take a little more tlc. I used Insight for that very reason this year. His DOC epd is quite a bit better. Did end up using some Primo as well but almost didn't because I was worried about the dispostion. Keeping an eye on the DOC epd in the Limi breed is usually pretty helpful for calming down a calf so I suspect the Angus epd would do the same.

Interesting about Style we haven't had that issue yet. We have only had 6 or so here lost one at birt. We are guessing came out breach pretty little heifer. Not currently using him but would use him again. Our only bummer I'd we have a daughter she was easy going went from the ring to producing but we are really disappointed in her as a cow. She is out of a really nice baldy cow we have along with half dozen of her sisters producing for us. The milk wasn't there her poor calf this is don't know just disappointed I guess. She is bred for spring giving her a second chance because she is a really nice looking cow.
