Dung Beetles

anyone ever use them in your pasture? I have heard they are a good investment but I dont know much about them.

we have them naturally and they are a definite benefit.  no idea how much it would cost to "stock" them but if it's a few bucks an acre it's definitely worth it, but they are fairly easy to kill if you use insecticides on your pasture (I'm all for chemicals but we just don't have pasture bugs)

Dung beetles are common in Texas.  Here is a short video of a group of dung beetles devouring some coyote spore on our ranch. 
Not sure if you can buy them but they are very beneficial and should be encouraged.

There is actually a pretty strong movement against the use of Ivermectin wormers because apparently they are specifically very hard on dung beetle populations.  Apparently other wormers such as Cydectin don't have the same impact on them.  Do an internet search and you can find info on it.

I have found a few but have found a supplier to buy them.. If there is someone that has them for sale I know I would buy some!
