Sale avg'd $4267. Only know what lot #18 brought $11,500.

I was on the phone with Stumpy to bid in the bid off. I finally dropped out, but I stayed on the phone to see where he ended up and with whom. He said Red Dock Ranch???

No one seemed to know who this Red Dock Ranch was, but they were there in person and by the way they bid on this bull, I don't think they were even close to being done. They also bid on at least one other bull that I saw. The lot 18 was a very good bull. Th only thing that concerned  me about him was his shoulder shape, but he was packed so full of meat that you may have to accept a bit more shoulder. Derek's bulls were a very solid set this year. I cannot believe how much work would be involved in taking 45 bulls to Denver. Everyone of them was puppy dog quiet. and that does not happen without someone spending a lot of time with them.

Actually, Y'all, it's Red Doc Farm, owned by a Family of Physicians, from New Mexico. They have a website. Pretty Daddgum good Gerts!

They've got some nice bulls.  We used Gert bulls for years growin up.  Gert bull back over some shorthorn cows would make a hell of a replacement.  Id actually prefer the gert on the dam side but If you've already got the shorthorn cows...

The Ol' 734 cow is a beauty, but prolly too big for our taste. Even though He's horned, I really like the 8279 bull. I'd be leary of owning a bull named Sancho,as he'd probably be at the neighbor's place all the time, instead of staying with his assigned group of cows.....I hate fixing fence.LOL! ;D

We've got good taste, GB.  I picked 734 from the get go. I like her size. Shes big but not lanky. If she were raised at my place, she'd prolly wouldn't have gotten that big'a frame anyhow.  Take note ladies and gents, 734 exemplifies the way an udder should look: full, LEVEL, and with a decent amount of forward volume. Horned or polled makes me no difference. I like the Sancho bull too.
