A sad day seeing such a great herd dispersed. Just going through such a great set of cows showed the strength of this program. A lot of newer breeders were buying in volume. I was pretty pleased we got Lot 81, an Eionmor Ruby!
Heifer Calf average $1518
bred heifer average $2254
2 year old average $2604
3 and up $2701

sale average $2311

Is the Eionmor herd totally dispersed or was it a 'selective` dispersal as some herds have done in the past? Have they retained any females?

Ken Morrison told me that they were keeping the females that were 8 years old or older. He said they would be selling their 2013 bulls and a few open heifers in a sale next April and this would be their last sale. The cows that were retained because of age, would remain as long as they were productive but they would be run on a strictly commercial basis with no registrations, and the calves sold each fall. Eventually the remaining females would be shipped to market.

Here is a cow that we got bought at the sale, lot 91. By the picture it looks like my son picked out a good broody cow.

Eionmor Beauty 18T and Eionmor Beauty 100S were two full sisters that were standouts for looks and production. I believe 18T sold to Donelly's for $4000 and 100S was the high seller at $4500.
18T's 2012 bull had a 96 lb BW 836 lbs. at 248 days 1348 at 385 days.
