I’d definitely like to be able to upload pictures.  Routinely I try to post something and it says file size is too big every time.  Even just a single photo.  Content wise, hopefully the page will go more in the direction of the type of posts you see over on the cattleforum as opposed to just post after post of shameless plugs and self promotion

If you post from a phone just screen shot your own photo from photo library and it makes the file size small enough to post

The Open Range app is the most cumbersome database app I've ever dealt with. If you don't use the right # your post gets lost. We won't use it as a seller or a buyer.

Facebook was a lost cause as they regulated what post you saw. It has become a very unfriendly environment for small business. Only post you are assured of seeing is the paid advertisements.

facebook has replaced religion.

they perceive outsiders as pagans and treat them as such.

they are beyond change.

they are now a church.

I haven’t tried selling anything on Open Range yet. It seems easy enough.

I am not certain why Everything Show Cattle was taken down.  I believe that it had something to do with posting prices on cattle, but honestly...I don't know if I believe that.

Everything Show Cattle turned into a sewer of trash where the posts fell into one of a few categories:

Advertising plug for the next hair supplement

Product endorsement (disguised as a post) for the next hair supplement

A platform for belittling pretty much anyone not picturing a $10,000+ steer

A place for people to argue about pretty much anything

Everything Show Cattle was far too diverse of a group.  Technically, the term show cattle covers pretty much anything that gets a halter thrown on it and led through a show ring.  Dairy, bucket calves, mini herfs, lowlines, longhorns, and the list goes on and on.  It was just too big of a group.

The guy that started the group handed over Moderator duties in the last year.  I believe he just got sick of it.  It got too big, and became a pain in the ass.  I wouldn't be surprised if the owner of the group just knocked it in the head and took it down.

Making this site more mobile friendly would be helpful, but unless there is an influx of users the time and effort would probably not be resources well spent. Having an app that put it right in front of folks on their screen could help, because other wise it's googling it, dealing it small print, zooming in, zooming out, etc.

The ads are alone pretty invasive and it's hard to even find the link the forums on the website from a mobile device recently.

I've downloaded MeWe and it's not a habit to use it yet, but I'll give it a shot since it sounds like a lot of folks are going that way.

One way to bring Steerplanet back is to keep the politics and racist remarks off of it.  The same thing we complain about and suspect people of in the showing is what goes on with some of the posters on the forum.  Politics and emotions.  If you keep it about family and love of the past time it will be alright. Just use it to share wisdom and information.  Keep the BS away.

maybe start with the references of swearing to zero would be a good start as well.

pol pot, meet Beto kettle. Maybe you are running for president?

not sure why people read posts they don't want to read, then read it, post and complain about it.

what is the % breakdown of non-cattle related posts and what % is tolerable that isn't cattle.

should all of the non-cattle posts be moderated to be deleted?

who will decide that.

providing prejudice without examples is wholly irresponsible.

that is the hallmark of wokeness, a moving target of righteousness that the arbiter can not even remotely comply with themselves, but sees fit to hold others to account of higher wokeness.

maybe absolutism is a good thing, not sure. pretty sure irony won't be found.

i would consolidate the design and eliminate a lot of empty space.

bull directory is pointless. no activity
sales is listed in two spots, useless
blog feeds is good
meaning of terms can be rolled into intro forum

started by could be moved to a column and pages in same line as topic to get more subject lines on the screen to make scrolling more effective

fix the extra line bug when hitting return that some users have. it wastes space on posts. as in this post.

Go back and read this post... Topic: WELLA WELLA WELLA its that time uv year  (Read 3242 times)

I don't care about the caricature.  It's just the fact that the pic file extension was originally named "n8gger elvis".  I asked him to change it and he did, with no hesitation.

And why not just delete this topic instead of entertaining it....

Topic: Here is Practical Explanation about Next Life, Purpose of Human Life,  (Read 1200

You guys can go back and read it yourselves.....

All I'm saying is that I see a lot of posts from what seems like young people, people new to the past time/business who have legitimate (maybe repetitive) questions about their projects but get no response.  Yet some people, not all are so quick to give an internet echo chamber educated response to rhetoric full of motherhood words and "typed diction" when I know a lot of us don't talk that way in conversation.

Maybe a little bit more moderation is all that's needed is all I'm saying. If you gonna defend one "Right"... Defend them all.  No need to be so fickle.

Provide the content you are asking for instead of portraying a couple of incidents as a problem and not even remotely a problem with the site.

52 posts versus 12,000+

I think you haven’t been holding up your end of the bargain.

Stop acting like this is a together thing.

You are in deficit.

Start acting like it.

Allow for people to post their animals for sale in this Big Show forum. People just aren’t going to go searching for their next steer/heifer project especially when it was so readily available on Facebook to see what was for sale. I mean really how many people come here and then go to the cattle sales forum to find a steer or heifer.
Realistically how many regular posters here go and look at the cattle sales forum? In my never to be humble opinion, I believe everything else is an afterthought to the Big Show forum.
