Thinking about using him on some Sim/Angus cows to increase bone, add hair, clean up the neck and add stoutness.  First, will he do this and second, has any one had problems with "Galloway" hair when using him.  Concerned about a curly haired calf.

he will add bone ,,and I have had some kinky haired ones too.  Used him only on char cows,,,but would guess with the sim influence on your cows you could get some kinky hair too

he will add hair, help soundness.  I have had the best luck with him on neat fronted more powerful cows.  Curly hair has not been a problem for me.  pic attached is a fresh bull calf on a char/angus cow

i dont have any personal experience with the bull except a heifer that i bought out of him and love, shes half blood simmie and has real nice long hair. a couple of my neighbors have used him tho and ive been scared off, all the calves of theirs that ive seen have had bad front legs and cant straighten them untill they hit about 250 pounds, then some get better and some dont. these calves were all out of simmie, char, and angus based cows. just thought id give you my 2 cents...

Ya I just ordered 40 straws on him before it went up. I have an eye candy heifer that is yak haired out of an angus cow, the only problem is the it's hard to keep her hair looking fresh and are worried she won't shuck her hair in the spring

We have an Eye Candy x ( Full Flush x Meyer) my little sister is taking to our county fair. He has excellent bone and has great hair. Smooth and clean fronted. He also has good width across his back. My one worry is that he might only finish out at 1250lb but we are working towards 1300. Other than that we are happy with him. I'm going to try to upload a pic of him later.

The resulting calves would  only be 1/4 Galloway.  If the calves still have a lot of curl, I would say the curly hair comes from the other parts of the pedigree.

Galloways have a  wavy outer haircoat, not tightly curled.  The double haircoat underneath the guard hairs is very soft and dense.

I was wanting to use him on our biggest most powerful cow... until I saw the price of semen for $50 on bull barn. But on on other semen selling companies I still say him listed as $25??

Called Top sires to place an order for the Ohio Beef Expo. Had Eye Candy on the list, they told me he was $50, and I scratched him off the list. I never thought to ask why.

We were making our list to order and Eye Candy WAS on it but now at $50 I don't know we may buy more on another bull or try something else.

Why the price increase on Eye Candy?  He's not syndicated, is he?  He is not new.  He didn't die.  For his age I would think he has been around long enough, there would be a large bank of semen on him, unless he has not been collecting well.  (argue)

Or he just got popular, so Trausch raised the price?  <rock>

I WAS going to try him this year, NOT now, at $50 a pop!  

Just too many good bulls available @ $25/unit to pay that price.  Still Clubby, still inconsistency, still risk.   <chill>

Cattle Visions has raised him to $50 also so I think he is now $50 everywhere, some sites may not be updated. Thought about using him this spring on a few but the $50 changed my mind, think it's going to hurt there semen sales. In my opinion, to many good bulls to use that are $25 to $30 a straw. I don't like taking the chance of spending $100 on a cow if she don't take the 1st go around.

He had a real good year of calf sales so I am guessing Traush's pushing it up.....we had a Eye Candy X Angus yesterday. Really hairy and quite a bit of muscle.

I totally agree, I don't think I will be using Eye Candy because of the semen price. I was really looking forward to breeding him with my large simm/angus cow. I might be leaning towards I-80 now. I've read posts on here and almost all have been positive.

Had heard rumor in December that Eye Candy had broke a leg.  After not hearing any more after that figured it was just purely gossip.  Now if semen is jumping kinda makes me wonder.
