Anyone else notice trees turning in their area?

I've only seen a couple changing up here in God's Country  ;D
But I really hate the fact it's getting dark by 8:30 PM

Mine are turning because they are droughted out.  Just dry and they are giving up for the year.  Can't water now since they need to harden off, but will water once they start to lose the leaves.

We are starting to see some color, which is early for us.  Send good thoughts our way, it's our fair week and today will hit 104.  Barn full of fans and misters.

We are very excited to see the cold front this weekend bring us highs in the mid to upper 80's. May possibly drop below 60 for a low. Haven't seen 50's since probably April.

Same here.  Was 107 on labor day, I would think that would have to be a record.  Friday should max out in low 80's.  Trees just starting to think about getting some color.

Ours too, we lost two pecan trees to the drought as well as numorus ash trees. Leaves died and fell off in the middle of the summer.

We lost a bunch of trees this year because of the drought. I doubt they will come back next year, mostly oaks and pecans. Good thing is, I can get trees for free from the conservation (I am an educator), so I am ordering a bunch to replace what we lost! Very sad situation. Our grass is just starting to turn green with the rain from the hurricane! The temps have been in the high 90's with humidity in 70% range, making for miserable days for us and the cattle! We had an embryo calf born last night (283 days), bull calf that was only 72 pounds! Last time that cow calved the same genetic calf (flush mate bull calf) he was 90 pounds! Big difference.

I had to think about this for some time before I posted because I HATE to be negative BUT!

Geez will this heat never end.  Last year we decided to back our calving up to the second week of September because we were having calves coming too early due to the heat.  This year is just as bad or worse.  I am tired of moving calves to shade.  Thinking that we shouldn't start before the 15th of September next year.

I doubt that we will have much color here too many trees are heat and drought stressed although we have had some much needed rain in the past two weeks.  That is a plus.
