Favorite thing to do at a cattle show or on show day?

We have a long standing tradition of going to Ye Olde Mill at the Iowa State Fair with the kids, and now the grandkids, as soon as we're done showing and then it is off to the Beef Producers' stand for prime rib, steak sandwich, or roast beef.  I enjoy visiting with old friends and making new ones more than the competition any more.  Funny how your priorities change after 44 years of the state fair!

Being in the ring gives me an adrenaline rush like none other! I get so nervous right before but as I walk in I am able to show my butt off....love it!!! ;D

 

[The Show]

Fit and never have to even watch the show. Just keep a can of glue or paint in one hand and the clipper in the other. <cowboy>

Maybe I should clarify, I would rather be so busy fitting that I dont develope bleacher butt watching someone else show cattle. I dont see why thats stupid. Im too old to show and would rather have someone else show em. Sure I enjoyed showing as a Jr but it could never compare to handing the halter over to a new showman for the first time. This post is of course titled "favorite thing to do at a cattle show or on show day" isnt it?

Haha I wasn't calling it stupid. "I'm with stupid" is just an old saying. I was agreeing with you that, that's what I like to do at shows too.

I like to look at the other breeds of cattle.  You can always learn something, especially from good cattle!

Reminiscing old times with old timer that come along and visit. Trouble is I'm now getting to the point that I'm one of them.

Tell me about it. I'm not sure when that happened, either.
