I bought this show heffer for more then I wanted but it was already broke, I'm thinking to help recover from the expense if I would AI her back every year and have her show her calf instead of buying a new one. And possibly getting into selling some of her embryos to recover the cost and maybe make a little. Thoughts and ideas as im so new to all this its not even funny

Yes ma’am! Selling those embryos would get your money back for sure pick popular bulls and it should NOT be an issue as she is a damn good looking heifer and be sure to worry more about calving ease bulls on the first calf the fun stuff can come later 😉 there are plenty of great bulls

I did a little stalking to find her video and I’d say all you’ve done is made a bang up investment keep her on the right haircare and nutrition and she’s gonna kick absolute ass in the showring and if you’ve got any questions since you are new shoot me a message :D

What kind of hair care do you recommend right now my daughter is using clear choice to wash hydrator for conditioning and kleenex sheen at the end. It don't get done like I would like right now as the barn and shed got taken by a tornado and living in iowa its to cold right now to bath her 2 times a week with the cold water that's avable for her. I'm thinking bringing the trailer and the heffer into town and using warm water from the house and drying her good before I take her back.any ideas would be awsome

What are some good bulls for frist time mommas I found this one on cattle visions under club calf. Name is 3 of a kind
From Matt Lautner Cattle -

Out of Taylor Lueking's legendary Emmerson donor that has generated over $230,000 in revenue in her short career so far. Full brother to multiple past champions across the show circuit including Abi Henderson's many time champion market heifer from the 2019 show season. Three Of A Kind is the first Made To Order son that you can use to add foot size and muscle to matings. We like the added look and style that Made To Order cattle bring to the show ring and are excited to see what this powerful young sire will return in future years. The biggest and best selection of THF/PHAF sires at MLC, order early demand has been overwhelming

I would breed her to a low birth weight bull (calving ease) for the first time, a live calf and healthy cow are better than a dead calf or Cererian. You might look and breeding her to a low birth weight Main Anju or something like that. I'm not positive but you should be able to register Maintainer if it is a heifer and should get a decent steer out of her if it is a bull calf.

Its not too cold to wash cattle in Iowa right now. Shampoo once per week, rinse and Kleen Sheen as much as possible.

The guy you bought her from should be a good resource for you as well. Clipping, fitting, feeding, breeding. Lean on him, he is working to build his reputation, and has some quality wins under his belt already. Ask about her genetic status, if she is clean by pedigree, that saves you time and money getting her tested. Knowing genetic defects helps with breeding decisions.

Do not use 3OAK on a first calver.

Obviously I’m going to recommend you my favorite breeds bulls because I have a helluva lot of success with and respect for the jcl program and the cattle they produce awesome folks, JCL FRIO division winner at the cattlemen’s congress and also doing a lot of winning over in Mexico since he was purchased by some folks over there, I will be using him on heifers of mine being that if you choose this road the calf out of metaphorical breeding would be eligible for the najrae and red angus associations percentage shows pics! IMG_5425.jpeg I’m also a stickler for calving ease bulls that obviously won’t sacrifice look I’d say he does the job heifer sexed semen can be bought from cattlevisions but semen in the us is limited :))) and honestly heck if you do happen to choose a flush to her from this bull in the future PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I’d love to buy some embryos I love her look and love ones that look like her! Also don’t feed too heavily as she is pregnant that will also help her out in making sure the calf isn’t too big AS FOR HAIR CARE! if you wanna go the cheaper route I’ve heard the green stuff works just as good as the more expensive showcoat which is all I’ve ever used and had nice beautiful hair with but the heifer had those good genetics anyway so I’ll never really know lol!
