fence posts

I have heard the old hedge posts are better than the newly cut ones.  Iin our area (SE Ohio) some people use them but most people put in salt treated  posts.

I would not want to mesh with the ole boys that set the stone posts. They had no money,no wood, and super intestinal fortitude.

I tried to cut hedge posts with a chain saw one time and the chain lasted about 2 and one half posts.

I wonder which is easier to drive a nail into?  The hedge, or the stone?? 

Seems to me, that building several miles of fence, wouldn't be cheap, or easy with these stone deals.. Maybe for a corner though?
