Yesterday morning my show heifer had her first calf! She's an  Eye Candy X Dr. Who x Charolais who I bred to Fat Tony (Red Angus). The baby is in the mid to high 70s, born unassisted and healthy. I'm very pleased with how she's mothering (not overly broody) and milking.

Congrats!  You must be proud....heifer or bull?  What are your plans with this little one?

Thank you! It's a bull. We are planning on getting him castrated and (hopefully) selling him as a show steer. Since we're in Texas, he'd be classified by the show's committee, and we assume he'd classify Angus due to the majority of his characteristics, but there's no telling.  (thumbsup)
