No, not an April Fool's joke, but I thought it was at first. My Hoosier Hot Shot cow was due two days ago to Perfect Timing and looked like she would go at any time. She wasn't in labor today before I went to class. After class, I went to a friend's house to clip their calves for a show this weekend. I got a text from my sister saying that she was calving...I didn't believe her at first, but then my dad called me and told me it was legit. She had the calf out and on her own in 45 minutes like usual - I LOVE that cow's maternal ability. Beautiful little red-neck roan heifer baby. Hope to get a couple pics tomorrow. That was the first calf out of our own cows this year, and we already have 4 pairs we bought, so we'll have quite a few more calves to sell this year!
This baby is a FULL SIB to a heifer that was pretty popular on here this year, and a 3/4 sib to my first Perfect Timing calf. I imagine she will be for sale, but it's a little early to talk about that just yet. Just thought I'd share my good news!
