So I was at a show a couple weeks ago and got in a bit of jam and was pressed for time fitting this heifer, I asked one of my friends to grab a side and help fit. Well we got done i took a step back and you could notice differences from judge side to non show side. I noticed that we both have I guess different styles of fitting. So the purpose of this post is to just get an idea of maybe the different regions of the country and what there technique is.

When i fit I try and keep it as "Natural" as possible.
1. First thing I pull the leg with prime, splitting them. I usually start with a regular sullivans comb and use a fluffer to move or adjust anything until i get the leg how i want it.
2. Once i have the leg set I spray some ultra white on them, I personally use the white to help really light up the leg especially in a darker barn, it makes clipping them out easier.
3. I clip the leg out taking down the hocks, give them more flex or whatever they need if anything.
4. Once  I get the leg clipped out the way i want it I spray the leg with some tail to really set it and keep its hold
5. Finally I spray the leg down with black

So what is your technique? do you have any pointers? I want to make this post something where maybe some people can get some tips and tricks. Theres alot of youth out there that don't know how to fit and have to hire people. I'd like to atleast give them an idea or something that they can play around with at home.

Well, I show angus so I am limited on what I can use to build the leg in terms of paint and glue.  I only use Tail adhesive unless I have one that has super leg hair and is well trained.  People starting out should only use Prime time.  Tail adhesive is just too heavy for them.

I as well try to keep everything natural appearing.  I guess my biggest piece of advice for people just starting out is to comb more and use less glue.  So many people get trigger happy with adhesive and then it just becomes a big sticky mess.
