another democratic idea to end small business.

Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h875/text

but he's so cute and he's not a white male.  everything he (and the democratic congress) does must be right.

The term ‘food production facility’ means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation.
The FSMA would require producers to “track the food in commerce” without defining clearly what that means.  Would that require farmers who bring produce to local, direct-sale markets to get names and addresses of their customers, as claimed in this segment?  It seems unclear, but the record requirements appear to have that much leeway.

you can click on individual sections.  of course this will pass because he's just so cute and his smile so big, just like the joker.

i challenge ANYONE who supports obama to NAME 10 policies that helps small business.

centralizing food production is a leading cause of the problem and now obama and congress want to centralize it more by driving small business out of business.  these people are just stupid, reckless and yes, communists, facist stateists.

writer of the bill:  Ms. DELAURO (for herself, Ms. ESHOO, Ms. DEGETTE, Ms. SCHAKOWSKY, Mr. ENGEL, Ms. CASTOR of Florida, Mr. MURPHY of Connecticut, Ms. SUTTON, Mrs. LOWEY, Ms. SLAUGHTER, Mr. HINCHEY, Mr. MCGOVERN, Ms. WASSERMAN SCHULTZ, Ms. HIRONO, Mr. GRIJALVA, Mr. SCHAUER, Mr. NADLER of New York, Mr. BISHOP of New York, Ms. LINDA T. SANCHEZ of California, Mr. MCDERMOTT, Mr. RYAN of Ohio, Ms. GIFFORDS, Mr. FILNER, Mr. HALL of New York, Ms. LEE of California, Ms. PINGREE of Maine, Ms. KAPTUR, Mr. BISHOP of Georgia, Ms. MOORE of Wisconsin, and Mr. DEFAZIO) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Agriculture, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concernedComments

Ms. Delauro's husband works with Monsanto. Anyone else see a HUGE conflict of interest here?

THIS IS PROOF BIG BUSINESS WRITES THE LAWS.  YOU SMALL INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS SUCK AND NEED NOT BOTHER WITH TRYING TO MAKE MORE MONEY THAN YOU COULD WORKING FOR SOMEONE.  NOT ONLY THAT, BUT YOU DON'T GIVE CONGRESS ENOUGH CAMPAIGN MONEY OR VOTES.

Read enough of the bill and this may be the way we have  a mandated animal I.D. system in the United States.

this bill is supper dangerous

Not only do they want to be able to track every carrott (we are all going to starve)

There are huge fines ($1million and jail time)

Dosent establish what a farm is so will include your backyard garden!

It is written vaguely on purpose

Very very dangerous bill

I have a conspiracy theory, somebody paid someone in a peanut plant to ignore a problem, so an out break would occur, and it would appear our laws inspections and regulations are not good enough, so to appear that we need more socialistic laws. (I don't think socialistic is a word but you get my point) for some reason the guys/idiots in Washington think if the U.S. destroys our own agriculture it won't effect any of us, "cause we don't get our food from farms we get it from the grocery store"...makes since  doesn't it?

I'm just glad I know how to plant my own peas and carrots, if they wont me to name every pod I'm sure I can come up with some creative names...but I'm not sharing with anyone that can't grow there own something.

...OK so maybe I'm close minded and mean, but rrr...Washington can be stupid.

So what can we do to stop the catastrophic down fall of America? I'm a firm believer in not complaining unless your willing to try and do something about it. (all though I must admit to being hypocritical from time to time) ???
