I have had gates opened, wires cut, dogs turned loose, you name it, it's been done at our place. We live just off a highway near a farily large town, so you can imagine the mushroom hunters we'll have soon. None ask, by the way. If I catch them, I call the Sheriff. They don't do anything, but it makes me feel better. Saturday night/Sunday morning last weekend will stand out for a long time. I took part in an Iowa State Triviia night at Hilton Coliseum Saturday night, getting home about 10:40. The Cardinals were playing the Dodgers in L.A. so I watched the rest of the game when I got home. I went out to do the 'evening' chores about 12:30, finishing about 1:15. Real peaceful that time of night. After doing chores Sunday morning, I got ready for church, went to the car, and noticed the driver's door was ajar, shut, but not latched. I then discovered that our Dave Ramsey Financial Peace box was not on the front seat where it was supposed to be. My wife and I coordinate these classes through the church and I thought perhaps she had taken it to work with her when she left at 5:30 a.m. We sometimes provide copies of forms to people we meet that may need help. Then, I noticed that the back door was also ajar, closed, but not latched. Two coats, one with my initials on it, and the T-shirt I got at the Trivia night were missing. Upon further investigation, I found my cell phone, car keys, and a square 3 gallon bucket and funnel were also missing. My checkbook was still on the front seat. No checks missing. After church, I called my wife at work just to see if by chance she had taken any of the items. Of course, she hadn't and I suggested that she check her car. She called back soon and reported that someone had taken her brand new 18 CD set of the Bible, conveniently in a box, and also took between 15-20 CDs from the storage area between the seats in a Toyota Prius. Most of hers were Christian CDs. I thought it was a little strange that the Bible and Christian CDs were gone from her car but the Led Zeppelin and Lynnyrd Synnyrd, etc., CDs were still in my car. Needless to say, the cars ar locked now.l
