here's a bull with a few problems who shows up in a few pedigrees.  he breaks severely behind his withers, has no rear, has a thick neck, but is deep ribbed for a fullblood of the era.

equateur

here's epinal.  very tubey.  i like  epinal 240c far better.  240 seems to have a superior volume, rear leg structure and is more masculine fronted.  still a very prominent bull. epinal has good muscle expression compared to some of the other fullbloods, particularly for how tubey he is. he also has a very long hip.  he probably is deeper than he appears due to his length if you actually measured him compared to other bulls of his era like twin creeks etulason.

these old fullbloods aren't nearly as bad as they are believed to be by my generation listening to the old timers...  I'm liking what I'm seeing...
viking, shakedown and mr t revolution were also not fullbloods.  many of the old bulls i saw since 1969 would work today.  you just have to know which ones to weed out and ever use.

i bred  411210 to iabon on Saturday think that will work?

not sure i looked at this correctly, but i would get cornerstone eden verified canadian if you have any semen, then you can verify yours if your cow is.

if you did do that, i would be interested in something.

phenotype wise, i think she might be bigger than you want but that's ok as there are plenty of smaller maine's you can breed her to these days.

if she was super angular and correct, you could breed her to something bulky like mel's semi automatic if exportable.

was she an embryo?

maybe, but i think fullblood can think for himself.

Your heifers dam was my very favorite ever at Harding's - I'd be excited about that mating!

she  and one other came from Clifford teets in pa. as bred last fall. had nice small calves from his herd bull. was hoping to get both  bred to iabon have had one before  i liked. a man from out west of me said to bred my cunia cows to iabon and my iabons to cunia .that had worked well from him in 70 ,s and 80,s. so 30+ some years later maybe time to try it again???      had iabon heifer calf 4/24/13 103 # unassisted up in 20 minutes nursing.

you are not the only one with that idea...  I have a friend who thinks quite similar---- as we have already discussed..  Good luck, you'll get your Iabon's before we do-- keep me posted.

Leave cunia out of the mix. There is no need for him.

I agree-- he's so much different-- which is why he took off.  Both good and bad...  Would you guess he sold 2x as much semen as any other bull, or more?

Not much for Cunia around here-- unless really far away.

from experience:
never have run across anchor boy semen
iabon and buret imo too big we never used
dollar 11  sired lots of good show cattle (big correct smooth)
epinal a great foundation sire as was covino 111 but he was not used as much in later yrs
caqui offspring big & really thick but only use on cows that can have an elephant
never used voltair or saw progeny
never used dalton but liked the black bull pc metric who was a covino 111 x dalton/cunia and sired good cattle
i have a good fall 2011 fb index bull calf that we are going to show
