BullBull (On Trace, yes an Online grandson) Name came from when we bought him and 4 steer bulls, before they were castrated, my husband couldn't tell the bull from the steers. So we had Bullbull and the steerbulls. I thought it was cute and the name has stuck.
Bulls born this year.
Muff short for Muastaffa (sp) from the lion king movie. Sire is Lion King
CF Just Charles, My son wanted his name to be charles only but me and grandma have a weird sense of humor.
CF Mamas Julia
CF Gracie Batavia
CF Jenna Batavia
CF Princepessa aka Princess
CF  Clouds Key aka Nikki
I try to incorporate dams and sometimes sires into names. I name the hefs after my favorite girls names as I only had boys and will never have a little girl.
Steers
Big Ben

Had a cow named BFS Maggie, and bred her to a bull called MM Magnum ( Mary Kaye full sib), got a bull I called "Hi-Mag", after the minerals used in the springtime here. She had another bull calf that was so long that i called him " Well Rope". Heifers are all given the cow fanily names (Joy Maids, Mayflowers, Rose bloom, Augusta Bloom, etc.)  , and, are distinguished only by year codes and sire name abbreviations. Keeps my cow families and pedigree info easier to keep track of, wish other Shorthorn Breeders would do the same. Anymore, I can't go to a  State sale, and tell what's what from whodunnit, without researching the extended pedigree online before the sale!

We tend to use the sires name in the calfs name.

Sizzler (heatwave),  Spellcaster (witchdoctor), Jalopeno (habenero) Ally (Ali),  Have a cool heifer we named Classy Chassie. which is a name of a gentlemens club.
We have also used  Mercedes, Charm (kadabra)
Our baby calves this year are named after WWE wrestlers and The Colts,  We have Marvin, Dallas, Addai, Undertaker, Batista, & Shalayla
We had on calf out of a heifer that was #110 I named him Jethro!
My son and I have fun naming the calves.  My husband has  a hard time remembering who is who.

Colts fan, huh? I admit I'm a major Chief fan. We were just a smal step in your superbowl trophy! But you have to admit Ty Law gave Peyton a fight didn't he?

red, i will share that with my hubby.  i always say a name of a calf and he says which one is that.
Austin,  I always like a good game.  I would rather see a close game than a blow out, its just more exciting.  It will be interesting this year to see how the Colts do.  Good Luck to you and the Chiefs.  My son named all the calves after the Colts.  Alot were born right after the superbowl.

We had two grand champions a couple of years ago, one was name Smokin' Stogie (Cigar calf) and the other Rajin' Cajun (Habanero calf).  Some other have been Quince (Spanish for #15, his eartag), Clubber, Spanky, Twitch, Bodacious, Power Bar, can't remember them all.  We really try to have fun with the names.

My pair of simmental heifers this year are named Paris and Nicky like on the show "The Simple Life". They're spoiled just like the people on that show. I guess it's in the name.

I also have a cow named Yoshi and she was my first show heifer and everyone told me they loved her name. Most of my cattle have human names lol

A lot of my parent's cows names are discriptions of how they look:
Two Horns - a big cows with sideways horns
One Horn - a little old simmental cow that was dehorned but one of them grew back
Midnight - our black herd sire
Two Socks - A black bull calf with two white hind socks (named after the wolf from Dances with Wolves)
Ninja - a black white faced heifer with a black band that went across her face and around her eyes
Whitetail - red heifer with white tail
Little Red - A little red cow
Riding Hood - Daughter of Little Red lol
Big Red - Another red cow that is bigger than little Red
Heart - A cow with a heart on her head
Ying-Yang - a calf with half a white face, and the rest ws balck
Here's a pair of heifers - Fluffy and Silky. They looked almost alike except one had fluffy hair and the other one had smooth (silky) hair
There's tons more too lol

we have 4 cows with ear tags, i know, thats weird. We only have 13 and  its not that hard to identify them. here we go

when we are talkin, that 7 cow, that 75 cow or my cow, first heifrer, or that 10 cow with the huge hips or the black and white cow...
the other cows: the big red cow, the rambo cow, the double rambo power plant cow. that charolais holstein cow, and the 2 red 1/2 short. cws aside from my red 1/2 short cow, #75. our bull i like 2 call hammer.

calves: the big red cows calf, the rambo cows calf, that one out of the charolais holstien cow, the last calf [the last calf born] or that baldy heifer or patch face twins [not twins but were born like an hour apart and look alike from different cows
the ones in the barns names are ace, sambo, and the heifer is girl as in [come here girl  :D ]

very bland but it gets the job done

My daughter's heifer a few years back was Amazing Grace, and we have a full sister named How Sweet the Sound.  Daughter's show heifer this year was named for her maternal Grandmother who worked on planes during WWII - Rosie the Riveter.

Cow names are all over the place: Finesse, Olympia, Goggles, Spirit, Oprah, Cleopatra (Caesar daughter), and Sugar Maple are some of the more interesting ones.

Most calves go by "Stupid" or "Dummie" until they're broke.

This year's cleanup bull is an Ali (a boxer) out of an Amtrack (train) cow named "Boxcar" - I'm kind of proud of that one.  Lots of great names come to mind when I'm driving, but I never write them down, then can't remember them when it's time to fill out registration papers.
