i don't like them between their hooks and withers.  they look shallow ribbed and weak topped in a different way than breaking behind the withers.  to me, they look like they could use some organ volume.

I don't see that Knabe. Can you explain this to me seriously. I don't understand what you are saying.  ??? You are a very knowledgeable person I would like to understand your critique.
They look compact and older styled to me. I think its hard to judge their top line from these pics. I don't see the shallowness you noticed.

the way I see it is they look pinched through the for-rib... OR big shouldered.. From a picture that's about as good as I can do.  They also look high loined... which might just mean a big ole RE is hiding under there

Some of the very biggest outfits in the Angus breed brought these bulls over here to use , lot of them have 1/800 lb cows very easy.  There is a reason that these breeders who raise 1400-1600 yearling adjusted bull calves have went over an bought true Angus bulls that are lot less growthier ....There usually is a reason for our actions, an as successful breeders who were in on these bulls brought over here.....  If you don't use a great big cow on these bulls you will have some genuine puds ...

Just goes to show you , differnent parts of the country have different trends/needs . We couldn't afford to feed a 1,800 pound cow . We'd have to cut our herd by a quarter for the same amount of feed . They would have to be weaning a 750 pound calf  every year.

Going somewere else to get new bloodlines is understandable , but if your not makeing the breed better/more efficant then your chasing your tail.
