Yes, definitely having the annual sale!  I hope that we won't have to limit calves that we take on consignment. We have had a lot of calls.

The picture of the Joe calf that Justme posted was just taken with my cheesy cell phone so not the best picture.  He was a fall calf out of a first calf heifer.  From all of the reports that we are getting Gigolo Joe is proving again this spring that he is designed for calving ease.  I guess you can let the picture tell you what he is doing in the style department.  I don't have any calves yet out of his daughters but will have a report soon!

I would agree to using Joe on the heifers.  I do not think it is too good to try for clubby calves out of a heifer.  I have but most heifers are not prone to be as good of mothers as cows.  But from Joe you could get some very good show heifers and cows.

If you wanted a little more clubby look from the heifers Oklahoma Storm could be the bull of choice.  He has a low BW and his calves do not have large bones at birth.

We have had calls asking if we would have our semen tank along with us at the Ohio Expo.  YES!  Bring your tanks along. We will be offering incredible Gigolo Joe caps when you purchase your semen for this year.  If you don't have a tank you can place your order with us at that time.  It is our first time attending the Ohio Beef Expo.  I am really excited about seeing everyone there.  Be sure to look us up!

Jill: Taking the little fall calf that is pictured here.  Oh yeah, and Brad.  I need somebody to lean on the shovel!

Red:  You must mean Nelson 26T2, our Contender son. Wish I was taking some 26T2 calves. I only kept four cows that were bred to him.  So far we have one on the ground and I have to say that if the rest are half as good they will be the best calf group.  I am thrilled with the calves.  Have had some great reports from folks that bought cows from our sale that were bred to him.  Only a few on the ground but the birthweights are in 70's and low 80's.  I was hoping that the bottom side of his pedigree would bring some extra calving ease to the table. I would not recommend him for heifers though. We will have semen with us as well.

I am SO jealous of you guys getting to go to the Expo's, Ohio always seems to put on a really good one.
It looks like all of the cows we bred to Joe stuck and all but 1 embryo so I am really excited to see what we get, we bred him to a couple of really powerful cows and if they look as good as the one you have pictured we'll be thrilled!

Plus if you make it to Juli's display you might get to see Woody & I! Not sure about cookies but I have a request put in by Brad Hook & Juli for a cherry pie. Come early though, I think Brad's bringing his own fork!  ;D

Well our heifers should be about done having AI calves and ended up with around 20 Joe calves.  All about 70-80, born unassisted, but we did get some color on them.  have not seen the calves yet, hopefully this weekend.  The other heifers that calved by AI sire were bred Image Maker (angus), Total Solution, Money Man and waiting on the Smokin Joe calves yet.  Hopefully those come this weekend while I am home so I can help them out the side if needed, I have heard the Smokin Joe calves are kind of large. ???
