Give me some bull suggestions

I am looking for a bull to produce steers.  I have a 1/2 simm 1/2 angus cow.  She is long spined, big square hip,  adequate bone, could use a little more rib shape, and a deeper flank, also she has that simmi brisket so if I could clean that up a little it would be nice.  Don't want to reduce frame too much either.  I am liking the unstoppables I am seeing but don't know what kind of cows the calves are coming from.  What do you guys think?

From what Im seeing one of the very few,but VERY GOOD Simm cross club calf bulls that IS NOT a pud,and very clean under the jaw etc. is Renegade Blues,and there is a thread on here with a couple of his first calves-Ditto for his sire Young Money-as far as working on alot of different types of cows-Especially Simm -Angus. If you want boring black-maybe the Creature-or the above mentioned bull.Or something older School and proven like Yellow Jacket or any number of Oklahoma Texas CharX  or Hereford appearing deals  O0

Unfortunately, at our county fair the boring black usually rules.  I am in West Virginia.

Some of those X  bulls with that cow would probably end up black also ,some of the Charolais guys are into CREAM  bulls because on black cow's end up black ...50 YEAR'S AGO WHEN MY FAMILY bought CHAROLAIS the cream cattle were the cheaper cattle is why DAD bought some ....I will stick to the WHITE CHAROLAIS cattle because they are one of the cattle breed's who is definitely still a purebred breed ,and it's nice to have genetics you can depend on .....

Unstoppable would be a good choice especially if she needs powered up a bit. We've hadgood luck with Believe in Me on simm/Angus cows needing power more than anything else.

Mark- I think the angus comment is sarcasm?  It just seems anything that shows Char color gets knocked automatically around here.

Being as I use to live/show in WV I know what you mean about needing to be black.... I won our county fair the 6 years I showed at it.... if your going to have color hes got to be flat good. I see that Rodger That calves are looking pretty promising.... He is 62.5% maine so the calf could be Reg Maintainer and Reg % Simmi.... if your going to jackpot some

I would say unstoppable, but he has to tendency to put a dirty front on them. And if yours has a bad brisket, then I wouldn't use him.

seems like black cattle do better in our area... have always stayed purebred angus and gotten along really well....seems like either reserve or grand each year... 1st year we had a angus cross out of Ali & last two years have used Style, Providence, Lookout,  This year have a Hobart & a Sankey's Justified.... next year looking like we will have a couple American Classic calves.... 

American Classic.... really like the growth and top in these calves.. have two on the ground and they both came early, small and have exploded in growth...  Classic is not supposed to be calving ease, but both of my calves were around that 75lb birth and a week early...

We have a fat we are feeding that is an unstoppable. Probably the easy covering cattle we have come across. Little tempermental but not bad at all.
I sent you a PM. We are using a Boomer son which is a full brother to Sooner. so far our red maine bull has exceeded his expectations. The females are super feminie very balanced and the males are very masucline. The bull himself is very masculine and puppy dog tame. I think Boomer was a bull that was under utilitzed. The calves we have had out of heifers and cows without assitance. Birthweights have been low. They definitely will make for replacement females. I have two bull calves that will stand out as steers for sure. Our bull is registered 7/8 shorthorn. I am using him on everything. I didn't have the time to do AI due to health issues. so, i was crossing fingers it would work out. And it did. Would be happy to send you some pictures. Used him on Maine, Simm/Ang, Shorthorn. Red we have gotten red, roan solid red. couple black females red carriers- red calves. Black cows black calves.

For keeping with the boring old black trend give Jose a try should power up a steer and have some replacement value if you get a hefier.
