<cowboy>hey coach, guess what she did most of today? Clipped and dyed! She did 90% of it and I did 10%, which is a complete flip from before. She learned enough to be more confident and "get er done". She is taking 6 head this week. Our calf is sick though, debating on taking the pair. I am calling vet tomorrow. ....
Glad your baby is doing better. Poor thing, she sure pulled on your heart strings..... smart girl (another Bailey cow trick) ;)
See you in a few days....
Oh, and the Ham balls tasted like teriyaki to me......

Wow... six head.  That sounds like a busy OEF.  Glad to hear she has a sparked interest in clipping.  As I got older when I was showing, it got too the point where I would rather clip/fit than lead them in the ring.  Even now..... it is hard to pull myself away from a hfr in the chute to run to the ring to watch one of the kids show.  But...... if I didnt ........ nothing good would happen.

Hope the calf kicks whatever is ailing and you can bring them to the show.  Hope the vet gives you some good news.

My kids had a great time.  They are already excited about going next year.

Drowning the ham balls in BBQ sauce might have made them go down a little better but as it was, the pototoes and chocolate cake were a pretty good meal.

LinZ- I forgot to tell you Great Job on your first Nationals!  Sounds like you had a good show.... esp considering the level of cattle that were present.

Siggy - Thank you very much!  If you feel like a road trip come up and watch the show!

Thanks Siggy! That means a lot. Our best chance, the cow calf pair, may not be going if I can not get the calf better.  It is a fun show, and while the rest will be headed back home on Sunday, we get to get back up early Monday morning to take my daughter's charalois heifer for three days. Sigh, doing two breeds is hard sometimes.

What days do you show at OEF?  I just won tickets to the Kellie Pickler concert for Tuesday night, so I know we might be up there then.

bummer it wasn't Wednesday night. That is the supreme female drive where great cattle are shown for the top honors and lots of money is given away! That is at 5pm if I remember correctly.  Simmentals show Friday and Sunday, and the only other one I know is charalois on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
