I think those Riding Longhorns are pretty cool, but I know down in Houston, me and the Lowline calves didn't know what to think about washing right next to them...I got gigged in the rear a couple times, but they were pretty gentle critters for havin such formidable headgear.

what does a good texas riding longhorn cost these days?
Longhorn Riding steers are priced commensurate with their degree of training/experience/breeding just like a good registered Quarter Horse.
So what you are paying for is the amount of time & expertise put into that animal. Well bred, well started calves that have been started like a western pleasure futurity colt are priced $2500 to 3500 and a bombproof Parade Steer that can do just about everything but write his name will sell for $10,000 or more...iF you can find one that their owners are willing to part with. Folks get very attached to their  Texas Longhorn Riding Steers and they will not often sell them for any price.
