There are several discussions taking place right now about the various hair growth supplements out there.  Personally, I have never fed one before.  The steer my son has right now is his first--he's shown bucket calves for two years, so hair growth has not really been an issue.  With this steer, however, it might become one.  So for all of us curious folks, please let us know what you use and how it has worked for you.  If you have fed more than one, let us know which you prefer.  And if different ones work better on different cattle, tell us that, too.

I know I would like to hear your opinions on this topic, and I would bet I'm not the only one.

Thank you,
Afton

Haven't tried any of the fancy hair growth promoters.  Have gotten along great with melatonin pills and Tasco in the feed.  I feed 35 - 3mg pills (to get to the 100 mg dose per day of Grow n Shine)each morning to the heifers and one oz. of Tasco Formulator per head per day.  Rinsed, blown out and under fans in a dark show barn by 6:00 AM and rinsed, blown out and turned out at 9:00 --9:30 PM

Many things can help the body think it should grow hair but nothing beets dedication and hard work.  One day off and you just wrecked a months worth of work.

I use a special supplement called Elbow Grease, works wonders for cattle hair. Mix it in with some Kleen sheen, vinegar, zoom bloom, and mouth wash( i like the minty kind), spray it on and brush/comb in..ALOT. Then blow the animal dry. Put them under the fans after you used the Elbow Grease.

;D ;)
