I picked up a few groceries on the way through town today. While I was picking up some soup I noticed the Minestrone soup and wondered.... I have ate and seen Minestrone soup most of my life. What does the word Minestrone even mean? Have you ever wondered about some of the words we use every day but really have no idea what they mean?  For all I know, Minestrone may mean " cull Mexican vegetables laced with pesticides!!!"  There are lots of others... just what does a " latte" mean other than " Foamy coffee that you can charge many times what it is worth ?"

Can someone enlighten me?

i think someone told me that it was for blending two colors or something. not exactly sure but i think that's what i was told once. i also do not see the usefulness of white crayons though

which is why i go outside.  why should men be the only one's who have to touch the toilet?  sexist.

i think 50/50 would be an ok compromise.  perhaps it could be 12 noon to midnight up, midnight to noon down.

I have a theory---Men leave the toilet seat up for the same reason women always leave the car seat in the most awkward position for men---"the job is done and I'm out a here" seems to be the thinking for the most part.    I would rather have to simply put a seat down than stand outside the car, bent over, usually in freezing cold weather to adjust not only the seat but the steering wheel before I get in a vehicle.  Not to mention this always seems to happen when I've got my hands full of something so I have to set that down and reposition it after I actually can get in the car.    Either that or try to squeeze in with your knees around your ears and dislocate your neck in the attempt!!  JMHO

I wonder the most about the names of towns and how they came to be an actual preferred choice for that town.  We have 4 small towns near us that are Manly, Fertile, Myrtle, and Joice---I think they're all weird names.  I once knew a guy who said he was from Conception Junction, MO and I never had the nerve to ask him if that was true or not.  Don't think I've ever seen it on a map, though.  I also heard there was a Climax, PA but I've never looked it up!!

I made myself curious so I just got on Google and sure enough there is a Climax, PA near Bethlehem and Conception Junction, MO is near Maryville if that tells you anything!!

I have a sister that lives less than 5 miles from Conception Junction,Mo. It's a neat little town that has a large Abbey there of all things to have in Conception Junc. The International quarters for the postal system is located in Conception. Very small town bur has a large Post Office. Gidget is that about right?

I used to drive through a town in NW Ohio called Payne. I'd call my hubby & tell him I'm in pain. Poor guy, no wonder he looks stressed!

To get back to the original question about Minestrone---I guess the "big soup" or "hodge podge" makes me glad we just call our dishes "mystery stew' or "mystery soup" or even just "vegetable soup".  At least you know that you don't know what's in something called "mystery"!!  How's that for a meaningful sentence??

My lawn developed a large round brown spot near the back steps last summer. Come to find out that when my son let the dog out in the morning, he also relieved himself
